Samsung “Active Learning” Grant Rules, Terms and Conditions

Teacher’s submission designates his or her full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these rules and the decision of Samsung Techwin America. The Samsung Techwin America “Active Learning” Grant Program (“Program”) begins at 12:01 am PST on February 1, 2010, and ends at 11:59 pm PST on June 1, 2010. No entries received after 11:59 pm PST on June 1, 2010 will be considered, unless the closing date is extended as provided in the "How to Enter" section. This Grant is sponsored and run by Samsung Techwin a division of Samsung Group, Korea.

(1) Eligibility: The Grant is offered to any school, public or private, located within the United States or its territories. The application must be completed by a teacher who has taught at the kindergarten through high school (K-12) level in 2010 and intends to teach in 2011. Employees, independent contractors, and management of Samsung Techwin America, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and immediate family members and persons living in the same household of said people are not eligible to participate in the Grant Program.

(2) How to Enter: Applicants are asked to: Complete an application that explains how their classes would benefit from a Samsung ultra high-resolution document camera.

(3) Requirements:
1. Applicant must be currently teaching in a school in the U.S.
2. Will use the Samsung Document Camera in the classroom
3. Samsung Document Camera will become property of the teacher’s school district

(4) Judging: Applications will be judged by an independent panel of judges. Criteria will be based on the schools need for a document camera to aid in the active learning experience and the current ratio of students to any camera(s) currently existing at the school.

(5) Prize: Up to Fifty (50) grant winners will be chosen for their school district to win a Samsung SAMCAM 860. Samsung reserves the right to award more than one 860 to any given school or school district. The document camera will be sent directly to the teacher at their school’s address, and will be registered as property of the School District. Prizes will be awarded no later than September 1, 2010 with notification via email if the registrant has opted-in, or by mail. A list of winners will be posted in the form of a Press Release on Samsung’s website at www.SamsungPresenterUSA.com

(6) Emails: By agreeing to the terms and conditions, Samsung Techwin America will be allowed to send the applicant emails regarding new products and other grant and scholarship programs.

(7) Permission to Use Name and Photo: Should a grant be received, the applicant is in agreement to allow Samsung Techwin America to use their name and photo for publicity purposes.

(8) Terms & Conditions: By participating, applicant agrees that Samsung Techwin America is not responsible or liable for, and shall be pardoned from: I. telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; II. Any condition caused by natural events beyond the control of Samsung Techwin America that may cause the Program to be disrupted or corrupted; III. Any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Program; IV. Samsung Techwin America reserves the right to suspend or cancel Program at any time if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper conduct of the Program. V. Samsung Techwin America does not provide your e-mail address or any other personal information to third parties. Personal information is used for internal purposes only, to verify high school enrollment, and where appropriate, to contact you directly.
